My great aunt Besse earned a Masters degree in Mathematics and Statistics. Unusual for a woman in 1911. She worked for the Victor Talking Machine Co and later for the Department of the Navy functioning under Adm. Hyman Rickover. I wish I'd have had the chance to hear her stories.
